"ENVIRONMENTAL ASSISTANCE - A PRIORITY"
| The Environmental Resource Center (ERC) is charged with the implementation and oversight of technical assistance activities involving freedom of information requests, pollution prevention, and small business technical environmental information. ERC provides assistance information in areas applicable to air, water, hazardous waste, and non-hazardous waste permits and regulations.. ERC, in conjunction with the Office of Pollution Control, is also responsible for receiving citizen complaints regarding air pollution, water pollution, solid waste issues, and hazardous waste issues. Over 1400 complaints are handled annually by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. |

| On-site technical assistance visits are provided through the ERC's Environmental Assistance Division. These visits are free, non-regulatory, and confidential to the maximum extent provided by law. ERC provides assistance with regulations, permitting, compliance, and pollution prevention. |
