This one day workshop covers design, operation and maintenance of all types of lagoon systems. Included are: Facultative (Conventional), Aerated and Anaerobic lagoons. We will also discuss wetlands, overland flow, irrigation and sand filters as methods of upgrading lagoon systems.
Wastewater Math
Class description
This two day workshop provides instruction in general mathematics and the specific equations used in all four wastewater classifications such as: Area, Volume, Population Equivalents, Detention Time, Pounds, Percent Removal, Sludge Age and more. The session is divided into two groups with Class I and II in one group and Class III and IV in a second group. The two days are not only a good refresher for certified operators but very beneficial to those preparing to take an exam. Be sure to bring pencils and a calculator!!
MWPCOA Short Course

This four day class sponsored by the MS Water and Pollution Control Operator's Association provides a review of the MS Operations / Training Manual in preparation for the certification exam which is offered at the end of the course. Included in the discussion will be topics such as gravity sewers, pump stations, inflow and infiltration, sanitary sewer overflows (SSO) and emergency operations.

This one day workshop is presented through a grant from EPA for small municipal system security. The workshop will focus on performing hazard and vulnerability assessments on small wastewater systems using the VSAT and NETC assessment tools. Natural and manmade emergencies/disasters will be discussed. As a follow-up, the training staff will offer on-site assistance in completing vulnerability assessments at selected small municipal facilities.
