The information on this web page is being provided in conjunction with a joint public comment solicitation and joint public hearing held by the Mississippi Environmental Quality Permit Board and the United States Army Corps of Engineers in relation to environmental permit applications from the E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company for the management of solid and hazardous wastes at the company’s DeLisle Plant facility. The electronic documents provided on this page are intended to provide easy access to the public of certain documents related to these environmental permit applications. The documents do not include all available information on the project, only those documents that are available in electronic format. In addition, many of these documents do not contain the required signatures that the final hard copies would contain. The electronic documents are available in Adobe Acrobat format. The hard copies of the complete applications and other associated information are available at the Public Library in Pass Christian near the project area and at the offices of the agencies above that are sponsoring the hearing. Surface Mining Permit Information
The following information relates to DuPont's application to the Mississippi Environmental Quality Permit Board for a Surface Mining Permit to mine clay at a site adjacent to the on-site solid waste disposal units for use in construction of individual disposal units. In conjunction with the surface mining permit, DuPont has also submitted a Mining Notice of Intent (MNOI) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for coverage under the Mining Storm Water General National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit for the discharge of uncontaminated stormwater from the mining site to an unnamed drainage channel.
