Mississippi Regional Recycling Cooperative Grants Program

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ)previously released a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) in 2013 soliciting grant proposals from municipalities, counties, regional or local solid waste management authorities, local government recycling cooperatives, local government solid waste districts and/or other multi-county/municipal organizations for the establishment of new cooperative recycling systems and/or the improvement or expansion of existing cooperative recycling systems to encourage and increase recycling in the State of Mississippi. MDEQ made four cooperative grant awards to local government partnerships in the state in 2014. The full FOA document and forms from that previous award process can be found below.

MDEQ anticipates releasing another funding opportunity announcement in the future. We will announce this opportunity as well as the process by which local governments can submit grant applications. Any questions regarding this upcoming process should be directed to the State Recycling Coordinator, Ms Jennifer Milner (jmilner@mdeq.ms.gov).
