MDEQ Issues One Advisory and Lifts One for Station in Biloxi
(JACKSON, Miss.) – The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, issued a water contact advisory Wednesday for sampling station 7 in Pass Christian East Beach. The advisory for Station 12B Biloxi East Central Beach has been lifted.
The advisory is lifted for:
►Station 12B -- Biloxi East Central Beach -- near Porter Ave. -- from St. Peter St. east to Dukate St.
An advisory is in effect for:
► Station 7 -- Pass Christian East Beach near Shadow Lawn Avenue, Pass Christian
This segment of beach is not closed; however, there may be an increased risk of illness associated with swimming in this area. When water samples show that levels are safe for human contact, the advisory will be lifted. Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing recommendation that swimming not occur during or within 24 hours of a significant rainfall event.
