MDEQ LIFTS WATER CONTACT ADVISORY
(JACKSON, Miss.) -- The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted a water contact advisory issued April 14 for a station in Hancock County. There are currently no stations across the Gulf Coast under an advisory.
The advisory is lifted for:
●Station 4 -- Bay St. Louis near St. Charles Street -- the extent is from the box culvert eastward to Ballantine Street.
The Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, which performs water sampling of the Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches for MDEQ, notifies the agency when an area returns to acceptable levels and safe conditions.
