MDEQ LIFTS ONE WATER CONTACT ADVISORY
One station still under advisory

(JACKSON, Miss.)
-- The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted a water contact advisory issued April 10 for a station in Gulfport:

Station 11 -- Gulfport East near Cowan Road -- from Anniston Avenue on the east to Teagarden Road on the west.

One station remains under an advisory:

●Station 4 -- Bay St. Louis near St. Charles Street -- the extent is from the box culvert eastward to Ballantine Street.

The Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, which performs water sampling of the Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches for MDEQ, notifies the agency when an area returns to acceptable levels and safe conditions.
