MDEQ ACCEPTS LEAF RIVER CELLULOSE INTO enHANCE PROGRAM
(Jackson, Miss.) – The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) recently recognized Leaf River Cellulose, LLC in New Augusta as a Leader in its enHance program. Leaf River Cellulose was accepted as a Steward member in 2009, and applied for a membership level change in 2010.
enHance is a voluntary stewardship program that recognizes committed environmental leaders who accomplish goals beyond their legal requirements. enHance is open to facilities, cities, counties, and other entities who are interested in the program, and applicants can choose from three tiers: Associate, Steward, or Leader.
“We are pleased that Leaf River Cellulose has been accepted as a Leader in this new class. They have been a productive member as a Steward, and we are glad they took the steps to become a Leader,” said Trudy Fisher, MDEQ Executive Director.
