MDEQ LIFTS ONE BEACH ADVISORY

(JACKSON, Miss.)
-- The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted an advisory previously issued March 23 for the following station:

● Station 11 – near Cowan Road in Gulfport.

Water samples show the area has attained acceptable bacteria levels. The Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, which performs water sampling of the Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches for MDEQ, notifies the agency when an area returns to acceptable levels and safe conditions.

Two beach advisories remain in effect:

● Station 6 -- near Church Avenue in Pass Christian;

● Station 12-B – located at Porter Avenue in Biloxi.
