                  HARRISON COUNTY BEACH ADVISORY LIFTED

(JACKSON, Miss.) -- The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality
(MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted an advisory
previously issued May 29 for a station in Harrison County. The following
location is no longer under advisory:

●     Station 7A -- near Trautman Avenue in Long Beach with the west end at
     Oak Gardens to the east end at Girard.

Water samples show the area has attained acceptable bacteria levels.
Swimmers are reminded that the Beach Task Force has a standing
recommendation that swimming not occur during or within 24 hours of a
significant rainfall event.

The Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, which performs water sampling of the
Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches for MDEQ, notifies the agency when an area
returns to acceptable levels and safe conditions. Information on the
