MDEQ LIFTS WATER CONTACT ADVISORY FOR BAY ST. LOUIS BEACH

(JACKSON, Miss.) -- The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) Thursday lifted a temporary water contact advisory issued November 10 for an area of the Bay St. Louis beach from Ballantine Street west to Beinville Drive which included beach monitoring station 4. The advisory was issued due to a sewer bypass from a malfunctioning pump station between Breeden Place and Ramoneda Street.

Sample results indicate bacteria levels have fallen within water quality standards.
