MDEQ LIFTS JACKSON COUNTY BEACH ADVISORY

(JACKSON, Miss.)
-- The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has lifted an advisory previously issued April 8 for the following station in Jackson County:

● Station 14 in Ocean Springs located at Front Beach near Martin Avenue (from the Yacht Club on the west end to Jackson Avenue on the east end).

Water samples show the area has attained acceptable bacteria levels. The Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, which performs water sampling of the Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches for MDEQ, notifies the agency when an area returns to acceptable levels and safe conditions.
